4-H builds belonging, independence, generosity, and mastery. Mastery includes the positive impact that a project has on the knowledge, skills, and views of a young person. Competitive Events Day is a celebration of the mastery that Alabama 4-H members have developed.

  • Intermediate participants must be 12 to 13 years old on January 1, 2024.
  • Senior Level I participants must be 14 or 15 years old on January 1, 2024.
  • Senior Level II participants must be 16 to 18 years old on January 1, 2024.

Registration will be available through 4HOnline. 4-H members, state ambassadors, 4-H staff, and volunteers are expected to register. Expenses of the 2024–2025 state ambassadors are paid by the Alabama 4-H state office.

  • Register online at v2.4honline.com.
  • Registration fee is $30 per participant.
  • Check-in begins at 9:30 a.m. at the Alabama 4-H Center.
  • Lunch only registration is available at $15 per person for noncompeting guests and adults.
  • The opening ceremony is at 10:00 a.m. in the Gaines Smith Environmental Education Building Auditorium.

You may pay via credit card through the 4HOnline system or, if paying by check, contact your county Extension office.

The Competitive Events Day committee is not responsible for hotel arrangements.

Contests

When entering Alabama 4-H Competitive Events, a young person may only compete in one event at regional and state competition because of contest scheduling. Each county may register one Senior Level I and one Senior Level II individual in each state event that is offered. Each contest has its own list of policies and guidelines.
